Here you have a choice, use glasses all day (or contacts all day) and take them off at the end of every day of your life, returning to the blurry vision you have. OR – See clearly all day long without glasses or contact lenses on your eyes, place the AOK lenses on at bed time (you still see clearly with the AOK lenses on) and go to sleep. When you wake up your vision is clear, remove the AOK lenses and your vision is still clear. For most people it is better.

If you have a corneal curvature that is consistent with your power, I would expect very good results with an experienced orthokeratologist who has the ability to create the retainers to your needs.

Hi, so I’m considering getting orto-k lenses, I hate my glasses and I don’t like normal contacts because it dries out my eyes and feels generally not comfortable, I have -5.75 on my left eye and -3.25 on my right eye, would it be possible for me to get these lenses? Problem is here in sweden they seem to recommend that you’re a good candidate if you dont have over 4.50 dioptres, I see that you treat up to -6, how come? So would it be possible do you think? i love swimming and this looks great

I have not heard of, or experienced any corneal breakdowns on my patients. This is so much safer than any laser or surgical procedure available. Keep this in mind: The part of the cornea I work with is completely removed by a surgeon when they do the laser procedure PRK. This tissue regrows over the next week. With AOK we do not remove this layer, we gently re-shape it. The risk of AOK is similar to wearing normal contact lenses.

Safety of AOK on an eye that has had LASIK, has not been determined at this time. Are you a candidate for an enhancement?

CRT is a form of AOK “Accelerated Orthokeratology”. We also provide C-AOK, which is even more customized.

Is this the same thing as orthokeratology?
